Practices
Olaya’s commitment to excellence is exemplified through the adoption of best-in-class practices. We diligently set metrics, manage change, evaluate and continually refine these practices, ensuring they align with our stringent standards of business conduct.
Project Benchmarking
We engage in ongoing research to identify and implement practices that foster superior performance. Our goal is to excel globally in our projects, mitigating risks and maximising returns on capital investments.
Project Local Content
Olaya proactively develops local content, with a range of rules and policies to encourage in-country supply of goods and services. This initiative not only directly promotes job creation and training opportunities for local people and businesses, but also facilitates emerging research and development sectors and accelerates advanced economic development.
Project Performance Framework
Olaya formulates a performance framework that sets out rules for defining indicators, articulating specific targets, measuring indicators, and specifying actions and requirements to reach targets. Periodic assessments enable the generation of key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
Project Compliance Framework
Olaya develops a compliance framework that clearly stipulates rules for identifying and adhering to all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
Project Management
Adhering to a phased stage-gated approach to Project Development, Olaya incorporates best practices outlined in ISO 21500 and The Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI). We develop a robust project management framework, establishing rules for project delivery across initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and close-out phases.
Project Governance Framework
We establish a governance framework early in the project lifecycle. The framework defines rules and mechanisms for decision-making, and authority matrices for shareholders, board members, and executive management.
Project Risk Framework
Our risk framework defines rules for identifying, assessing, mitigating, reporting, and monitoring project risks. Responsibilities are clearly outlined for employees, while authority with respect to existing and potential risks is assigned to individuals, committees, and the board. This framework provides for monitoring and generation of key risk indicators (KRI) reports.
Project Sustainability Framework
Our sustainability framework establishes rules to ensure that sustainability policies are met for every project we undertake. We are committed to environmentally responsible practices and sustainable development and have designed our framework to guarantee compliance.
