Project Lead

Olaya takes the lead on negotiating early-stage projects with all stakeholders. We build understanding and agreement between founders, investors, joint venture partners, technology licensors, design and engineering firms, project management consultants, EPC contractors, financial institutions, and regulators. Our objective is to craft acceptable and executable structures that align with the project’s goals and our overarching strategy.

The Olaya Project Development (OPD) methodology is an institutional framework designed to aid navigation of the intricate matrix of activities from project conception to financial close. It provides a set of internal standards, strategies and processes to navigate the complexity of industrial mega projects through embedded scenario planning, mapping the connections between all project tasks. This enables teams to manoeuvre efficiently between different scenarios across the lifecycle of the development. OPD strategically gates and sub-gates activities for authorisation, ensuring a well-monitored and decisive roadmap throughout the project lifecycle. In the pivotal early stages of development, our OPD plan defines deliverables, budgets, schedules, responsibilities, dependencies, risk mitigation, and alternative scenarios. Functioning together, these facets allow for a seamless project execution. OPD not only reliably expedites project timelines, but has also set new benchmarks, surpassing conventional project management practices.

Project Assessment

Our approach involves conducting a comprehensive project assessment encompassing market, technical, operational, financial, and risk aspects. Mindful of the inherent complexities and cross-border liabilities associated with large industrial projects, Olaya develops a robust set of strategies to mitigate risks. Our objective is to identify and rationally distribute project-associated risks among stakeholders. Risk assessments are complemented by due diligence, benchmarking, and comparative analysis with industry peers.

This methodology allows us for tactically gating and sub-gating of development activities, ensuring clear GO and NO-GO authorisation.
